Our Sustainable Supply Chain Strategy
We continue our commitment to ensuring that operations in our supply chain are carried out in a manner that respects human rights and the environment; we evaluate the status of our suppliers according to the Smart Supplier Code of Conduct, which we have prepared in accordance with the ten principles of the ILO and the United Nations Global Compact.
Our fundamental criteria in the supplier code of conduct:
• All employees in our supply chain have a healthy and a safe working environment
• Protection of children's rights
• No employee is treated in a manner contrary to human rights
• Protection of the environment
To create a shared sustainable future:
• We mapped our supply chain.
• We organize awareness sessions for our suppliers. In the first 8 months of 2024, we organized a total of 27 supplier information sessions.
• We’re identifying risks in our supply chain. In 2024, we started to evaluate the risks of the companies we directly purchase from.
• We’re conducting gap analyses with field visits to our first-degree suppliers. In the first 8 months of 2024, we conducted audits on 10% of our suppliers from whom we purchase directly within the scope of our Supplier Code of Conduct.
Our Polysilicon Traceability Strategy
We expect our suppliers to transparently share with us the companies that are involved in the Smart supply chain, from raw materials to our solar panels. We share our polysilicon traceability requirements with our suppliers to ensure that there are no practices that are incompatible with our Supplier Code of Conduct in the companies in our polysilicon supply chain.
Our Purpose:
• Ensuring traceability of polysilicon content at all stages from the raw material to the Smart customer,
• All companies in the polysilicon supply chain must be able to provide specific and traceable evidence,
• Ensuring there is no forced or bonded labor in the Smart polysilicon supply chain.
Our Mission:
• We will map the companies that provide production, storage, transportation, and trade services in:
o Cell,
o Polysilicon Wafer,
o Polysilicon Ingot,
o Metallurgical grade silicon,
o And quartz mining aspects in our polysilicon supply chain. We started mapping our polysilicon supply chain in 2024.
• We organize awareness sessions with our suppliers to introduce our strategy and requirements. At the beginning of 2024, we organized trainings to raise awareness for 100% of our cell suppliers.
• In 2024, we will begin to conduct traceability audits and establish a regular traceability reporting system.
