Organised by Kariyer. net, we won the Kariyer. net Respect for Humans Award for the years 2022 and 2023 among more than 30 thousand employers at the Respect for Humans Award Ceremony
We support efforts to increase awareness
in the field of sustainability not only within the company but
also in the public.

With “Smart Solar Academy” launched in 2020,
we organize trainings for our
stakeholders on solar energy, renewable
energy and their technologies.
Our Priorities
As Smart Solar Technologies, we strive to create shared value by acting responsibly towards all our stakeholders while contributing to Turkey's sustainable growth and green energy transformation. While we create value by working in compliance with the legislation in the renewable energy sector, where we create employment, it is our Company's priority to create an equal, fair and inclusive working environment for our employees. Social impacts are taken into account in all our business processes, and strategic goals, choices and actions are discussed transparently according to the principles of accountability and openness in all stakeholder engagements.
Diversity-Inclusion
Our company is very sensitive about gender equality and particularly supports the employment of women. In this regard, 48% of our workforce, which operates in three different locations in Turkey and is a total of 1,161 employees, consists of women employees in 2023.

In order to support gender equality and an inclusive corporate environment, equal opportunities, wages and rights are prioritized for female and male employees.

We also encourage equal opportunities in the employment of people with disabilities by complying with the concepts of inclusivity and equal opportunity in the workplace. We are trying to improve conditions by placing disabled ramps in our factories and assigning suitable jobs to our disabled employees.
Sustainable Supply Chain
Our Sustainable Supply Chain Strategy

We continue our commitment to ensuring that operations in our supply chain are carried out in a manner that respects human rights and the environment; we evaluate the status of our suppliers according to the Smart Supplier Code of Conduct, which we have prepared in accordance with the ten principles of the ILO and the United Nations Global Compact.

Our fundamental criteria in the supplier code of conduct:
• All employees in our supply chain have a healthy and a safe working environment
• Protection of children's rights
• No employee is treated in a manner contrary to human rights
• Protection of the environment

To create a shared sustainable future:
• We mapped our supply chain.
• We organize awareness sessions for our suppliers. In the first 8 months of 2024, we organized a total of 27 supplier information sessions.
• We’re identifying risks in our supply chain. In 2024, we started to evaluate the risks of the companies we directly purchase from.
• We’re conducting gap analyses with field visits to our first-degree suppliers. In the first 8 months of 2024, we conducted audits on 10% of our suppliers from whom we purchase directly within the scope of our Supplier Code of Conduct.

Our Polysilicon Traceability Strategy

We expect our suppliers to transparently share with us the companies that are involved in the Smart supply chain, from raw materials to our solar panels. We share our polysilicon traceability requirements with our suppliers to ensure that there are no practices that are incompatible with our Supplier Code of Conduct in the companies in our polysilicon supply chain.

Our Purpose:
• Ensuring traceability of polysilicon content at all stages from the raw material to the Smart customer,
• All companies in the polysilicon supply chain must be able to provide specific and traceable evidence,
• Ensuring there is no forced or bonded labor in the Smart polysilicon supply chain.
Our Mission:
• We will map the companies that provide production, storage, transportation, and trade services in:
o Cell,
o Polysilicon Wafer,
o Polysilicon Ingot,
o Metallurgical grade silicon,
o And quartz mining aspects in our polysilicon supply chain. We started mapping our polysilicon supply chain in 2024.
• We organize awareness sessions with our suppliers to introduce our strategy and requirements. At the beginning of 2024, we organized trainings to raise awareness for 100% of our cell suppliers.
• In 2024, we will begin to conduct traceability audits and establish a regular traceability reporting system.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As Smart Solar Technologies, we became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact in 2023 in order to comply with global standards in our sustainability journey and to adopt the highest ethical values on issues such as human rights and environmental awareness. In this context, we aim to integrate the 10 principles determined in areas such as human rights, labor standards, the environment, and the fight against corruption into all our strategies and operations. We carry out the professional development of our employees, our recruitment processes and our work-life balance policies in line with these principles and aim to create a workforce that is environmentally sensitive and values innovation. While implementing our Sustainable Supply Chain Management project, we also aim to provide more efficient and transparent management by moving our sustainability processes to the SAP platform. We continue our work without pause towards achieving our 2040 Net Zero target.
