In addition to its contributions to combating global climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in energy production by offering clean technologies, Smart Solar Technologies aims to become net zero in 2040. A road map has been created to achieve the net zero target, interim emission reduction targets have been determined and the steps to be followed have been established.

Our main goal is to develop high technologies to make efficient and clean energy use accessible and widespread, and to be a stakeholder of investors and users who prefer a low-carbon economy business model. With this outlook, we attach special importance to developing reliable energy management and efficient consumption practices in our own operations. In this context, we manage energy management and efficiency processes in line with the principles we have determined in our Energy and Resource Efficiency Policy and in full compliance with all legal regulations.

In all of the Company's activities, waste production is minimized, recycling and reuse are encouraged, and an effective waste management process is implemented. The waste hierarchy principle (prevention, reduction, reuse, recycling, energy recovery and disposal) is applied in the processes. The principles of separation and reduction of waste at the source, recycling, reuse and responsible disposal are applied throughout the entire value chain in line with these principles. With the awareness that waste management is a shared responsibility, we cooperate with stakeholders to promote a culture of waste reduction and responsible waste handling. Periodic trainings are organized for employees in order to implement circular economy principles.

Aware of the critical importance of efficient use of water resources, we plan to initiate water footprint studies alongside cell production processes at Smart Solar Technologies. In this context, we also aim to conduct water cycle assessment studies. Although there is no water usage in the panel production process, water is a crucial part of the cell production process so there will be water usage once cell production starts. Parallel with the planned wafer and ingot investments, the scope of water management will also be expanded.

At Smart Solar Technologies, we work to protect biodiversity and reduce our ecological footprint in order to support the proper functioning of the ecosystem. With our environmental awareness and responsibility, we design our operational areas and all our business processes in a way that will not harm biodiversity. Within the scope of Environmental Policies, we take the necessary measures to protect existing biodiversity in all our activities and to comply with the relevant legal regulations.
