The need for transformation in energy is increasing with each passing day!
"
The Chairman of the Board of Smart Energy, Halil Demirdağ, attracted the attention to the fact that the need for the renewable energy is increasing with each passing day within the current period. Demirdağ invited all industrialists to make investment in the solar energy sector on 5 June World Environment Day while saying “The renewable energy resources are the most effective method for the elimination of the energy need without causing harm to the nature. What has been observed in the nature during the pandemic showed that the transition to green energy has become urgent in the entire world.”.
It is known that the solar energy, being the largest renewable energy resource, is one of the most effective solutions against the global warming and environmental pollution problems with which the Earth is facing. While the Covid-19 outbreak which has an influence over the entire world deeply affects the solar energy sector as well, it is stated that one of the issues which are required to be given priority with the normalization process is the investments in this field. The Chairman of the Board of Smart Energy, Halil Demirdağ, emphasizing that the solar energy investments which have been suspended within the pandemic process must be activated as soon as possible in the statement that he made due to 5 June World Environment Day, drew the attention to the fact that the need for the green energy transformation is increasing with each passing day.
THE PANDEMIC PROCESS HAS REMINDED THE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Demirdağ, reminding that the United Nations (UN) determined the theme of 5 June World Environment Day for this year as “biodiversity”, made the following remark: “The pandemic process showed that more investments must be made in the green energy while it has reminded us both our relation with the nature and our responsibilities to the environment. While the transition to the green energy has become more urgent with the pandemic process, the importance of the solar energy has been clearly understood. The solar farms established on unexploited lands and the SEPPs built on the roofs offer one of the best solutions against the global warming and climate change which are the common problems of the humanity while they create added value for the economy and ensure the protection of the habitats of the plants and animals. Whereas the carbon dioxide emission generated by the fossil fuels and increasing the warm-up speed of the Earth is threatening our future, the renewable energy resources allow our needs to be met without causing harm to the nature.”.
THIS IS A CRITICAL SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY DUTY AS WELL AS IT IS BENEFICIAL FOR THE ECONOMY
Demirdağ, stating “The solar energy power plants are known to decelerate the global warming by providing a carbon-free life”, continued his remark as follows: “We express on all occasions that investing in the solar energy is a critical social responsibility duty as well as it provides benefit to the economy in order to protect our nature and to leave a more livable world for the next generations. Moreover, it is evident how our country is prosperous in this regard. The Sun which is a clean and free source provides Turkey with the opportunity for generous and unlimited energy. According to the data stated at the website of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the annual total sunshine duration is 2.741 hours, i.e. 7.5 hours in average per day, in our country. Nevertheless, our installed capacity is slightly over 6 GW. We regard this number as the indicator of the fact that how large potential that we have and we invite all of our industrialists to make investment in the solar energy. The investment in the solar energy will be the most significant step of kindness to be taken for both the economy of Turkey and the future of our world.”.
Demirdağ, stating that they, as Smart Energy, are planning to increase FV panel production capacity, which will increase to 1000 MWp within the third quarter of the year with the investments made in 2020, to 1.200 MWp as soon as possible, completed his speech by saying: “We aim at bringing more investors in our sector by means of the large SEPP projects the construction of which we have undertaken and for which we render engineering services as well as the panel sales. We believe that while our need for the energy which is an inevitable necessity for the continuity of the life is increasing more and more with each passing day, it is possible to minimize both the material and the environmental cans carried in return for this. Therefore, the normalization process after the pandemic must be considered as the opportunity to build a more livable world in which our relation with the nature gains strength and our awareness of responsibility to the environment is developed. While the investments which have been suspended due to the pandemic are activated in the solar energy sector, the way for the operations to put new projects on the agenda must be paved.”.
