SMART ENERGY AND SUMEC JOINT VENTURE WILL ESTABLISH SEPP OF 23 MW IN BİNGÖL

Smart Energy and SUMEC moved their strategic partnership in the production of solar modules to a new dimension with the SEPP investment. Smart Energy, being one of the major SEPP investors of Turkey as well as the module production brought SUMEC, being one of the largest companies of the world in the solar energy sector in Turkey as investor.
 
Smart Energy, being one of the leading companies of Turkey in the solar energy sector, and SUMEC, being the Chinese giant company, started to perform the new generation solar module production in Turkey with the establishment of FV module production plant in Gebze in 2017 by means of the strategic partnership that they established. SUMEC, which has been in cooperation with Smart Energy since 2011, decided to be a direct investor in Turkey and became the investor of the SEPP project of 23 MW the establishment of which was started by Smart Energy in Bingöl.
 
The Chairman of the Board of Smart Energy, Halil DEMİRDAĞ, expressing that they are expanding their business partnerships with each passing day through the cooperation made in line with the global and comprehensive clean energy solutions, gave the following information while stating that they are pleased to have brought a world’s giant company like SUMEC in Turkey as investor: “We have been in cooperation with Phono Solar associated to SUMEC group since 2015. We jointly realized several P&D projects on the module production and sales. When we established our factory in Gebze, we developed our strategic cooperation and succeeded Phono Solar and Smart Solar brand new generation solar module production in our country. The products which were produced by the cooperation of Smart Energy and SUMEC were elected as the best product of 2016 by being granted the reward of ‘Top Performer’ in the tests organized by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) performed by the independent organization DNV-GL. Our achievement in the solar module production moved our cooperation with SUMEC to forward. The first product of the joint venture that we established with SUMEC by deciding to take more permanent steps in the solar energy sector was our SEPP project with the installed capacity of 23 MW which we developed and started to establish in Bingöl. This partnership will provide remarkable contributions to both us and our country. It is a very important development for a world’s giant group to come to Turkey as investor for the development of our sector. Furthermore, Smart Energy and SUMEC Group will increase the chance of marketing their innovative and highly productive solar modules in the European market as well as Turkey with their joint venture and the winner will be Turkey again.”.
